At Scott-Marrin, we understand how critical accurate
calibration standards are to your profession. That is
why product quality is the foundation of our organization.
When blending calibration gases, product quality must be an
integral part of the production process. It can not be
added in at a later production stage. This is what 30
years of manufacturing calibration standards has taught us.
This is why each stage of our production process is
controlled, analyzed, measured and recorded as necessary.
Each cylinder goes through several stages during the
production process. First, we hydro test our cylinders
with a computer controlled hydrostatic testing machine to
ensure vessel integrity. We then valve each cylinder
with calibrated devices sensitive to the unique properties of
aluminum. Each cylinder is then prepared based on
proprietary processes developed by Scott-Marrin to maximize
stability of the gas mixture. These proprietary processes
are the result of extensive research of individual gases and
cylinder properties. The cylinders are then filled using
partial pressure, partial volume and/or gravimetric
techniques. From here, each cylinder is handled in
accordance to the gas mixture's unique requirement. Final
analysis is the last step. However, the cylinder has
actually undergone several analysis and several proprietary
stages during the process. Final analysis confirms the
final cylinder composition and the product is then ready to be
shipped.
